Ford’s in the news recently surrounded the company announcement made earlier this year related to the resignation of the old Ford executive, Greg Smith. After starting as an engineer with truck operations in 1973, Ford Smith on the news, when he moved to vice chairman after more than 30 years with the company. Now, after 32 years of service, Smith announced his resignation on March 1, 2006.
“Greg made a major contribution to the Ford Motor Company in many areas, including a big change for Ford Motor Credit”, recognizes the chairman and CEO Bill Ford. “His deep knowledge of all aspects of the business has been very helpful as we develop our plans for the future, and I am pleased that he will be with us in a consulting role.”
